Troubled Britney Scores a Hit

It is no secret that Britney Spears has been going through quite a rough patch of late with her turbulent personal life and the humiliation of her much panned performance at the MTV Video Music Awards. But it looks like Britney may finally be getting a break, as her latest song *Gimme More* is a success on the music charts, topping the Billboard Charts at Number 1.
Unlike her rather painful performance at the MTV Music Video awards, the video for ‘Gimme More’ shows a more in control Britney, who also seems to have grown as an artist as well.
But her professional success probably doesn’t mean as much to the pop princess, who’s currently involved in a messy custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline. However, let’s hope that this ray of success can put Britney back on the map.
